Spencer Finch - Painting Air

Inspired by Claude Monet’s efforts to paint transient conditions of light and atmosphere, one hundred tempered plates of reflective glass are suspended from the ceiling, each by a thin single cable, allowing the glass to rotate. The walls of the spacious gallery are painted with overlapping squares in 35 colours that reflect into the crystalline surfaces of the glass. Video here.
